Southend's first flower show - 1906

On Tuesday, 10th July 1906, Southend's first flower show attracted 400 entries. As you can see from the Chelmsford Chronicle's news report below, the show took place at Chalkwell Park and was opened by the mayor of Southend; the committee had been "indefatigable in their endeavours" to make the show a memorable one.
